Do the top officials, refs or coaches of the IRB think?

In my view I think that the ELV's were very effective as it brought a nice and attractive running game. There was alot less kicking and certainly for me and in the same breath a big and enthusiastic rugby fan I enjoyed it. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ELV's!!!

Well, technically, the ELVs are no longer experimental, so aren't really 'ELVs' anymore. 10 of them were ratified, the only ones that weren't were the laws governing the maul and lineout, which are now as they were pre-ELV.

Personally, i'd much prefer to see the IRB spend time on what they're going to do with the mess of the ruck.

We are currently running the risk of playing 2 different games under the banner of 'Rugby Union'. Some transgressions by elite players are left alone just so its more attractive to spectators, but its becoming increasingly different from grass roots rugby which is what 99.9% of rugby players play. I seem to spend most of my coaching time telling players that they can't really do what they see their heroes do in test matches, purely because you will be penalised every time.

So, if anything, the IRB should be looking at either drawing the community game towards how the elite game looks, or they should be reining in the elite players to play a game that actually resembles how its played at grass roots. Again, even though the ruck is a mess at the moment, its not so at grass roots, but it will become so as players watch pro players mess it up......
