In an area where football is king, how can we as a club recruit players?
Allan,
The good news is that even in a football area there are always going to be children who prefer rugby to football. I would suggest you talk to your local schools - Primary or Secondary depending on the age group you are trying to attract. If you offer to run a few coaching sessions in the schools this will help children feel more confident about joining your club. They will know the coach so they will be reassured about going to a new place.
Your club Welfare Officer will be able to advise you about coaches being properly qualified and having a CRB check done before working with children.
Good luck with your recruitment.
