Comm Media in New Zealand have a great series of DVDs- Lin Colling teaches Half back skills is available on Amazon.com or reedswain.com and is in my opinion excellent if you are training a scrum half. Very useful for all levels of scrum half and has a very good section on kicking from a lineout (box kick)
Stand your lad behind a cricket sight screen and set him targets to land the ball on the other side. That way he has to kick high to reach the targets and accurately or ball ricochets off the sight screen.
I would set him targets on a wall for him to pass to off of the ground. You could set balls 5m apart in a line and have him work on his approach. Ideally, you could have targets on either side to practice with both hands.
