what is the irb recommendation for children wearing glasses
15.7.5 Players playing age grades U7 to U18 only may wear specially designed and
manufactured âgogglesâ provided the childâs optician certifies that:
(a) They only allow the player to have properly corrected vision and do not
substantially restrict any normal field of vision.
(b) They do not constitute a physical danger to the wearer or other players
My son plays under 16 and without glasses he can't see someone six feet in front of him. He wears disposable contacts and has even had an eye gouge splitting the contact with no risk to his eye as they are softer than the non disposables and when we had a doctor check his eye afterward he said the soft type don't roll to the back of the eyeball, they are a little expensive but if you can afford it I think they're brilliant.
