Where do you start with Coaching Infants...

Hi there, just advice, I currently play for a local team, only social rugby, I love the sport, but so does my little boy who's 4... I was interested in finding out what qualifications processes you would need to go through to setup a little rugby class in my local area. Im not looking to teach the Kids the Rules of Rugby or have games, but more touch and chase the tag, fitness, co-ordinations skills etc... but how qualified do I need to be, and where would be a good start to getting a programme together... Hope you can help....

Inclusive rugby - Any tips and advice from coaches who have experience coaching kids between 2-7 years and children with special needs

Hi folks, I have been coaching children from 7 to 16 years for along time. I now have a new challenge. We are opening rugby up for children from 2 years to 7 years. We will also be holding classes for children with special needs and would appreciate any tips or dialogue with coaches who have any experience. I look forward to exchanging views and results with any coaches willing to share. We will hold a few test sessions in the near future and will stay in touch. Many thanks. Kieron .Hong Kong. In relation U9's, I've read about the two hands on the ball ruling in U7 tag, Is there a similar requirement in U9's to have both hands on the ball when running etc (this was flagged up by a learned touchline parent?). Can anyone close the loop on this one for me?

High school rugby in the USA |...

I am teaching a PE class basics of rugby and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on sequencing, I have them for 5 days and only 50 minutes per day. I was going to start with basic rules and ball handling and back lines, then rucking, then scrums, tackling (these kids love full contact), then on the last day hopefully play either sevens or unopposed. I am hoping to eventually start a club or team at this school. Suggestions?

Looking for day 0 skills to te...

I am looking for a Day 0 type of session for American children who may have never held a rugby ball. If I move forward with a rugby exhibition/team creation in the neighborhood, I want to make sure I know how/what to teach Day 0. I'm hoping that interest is growing for touch and flag rugby due to the recent in Philadelphia between the USA Eagles and the Maori All Blacks. I was there. It was fantastic. Tickets sold out so fast, I think there will be more of these in the area. Thanks.

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.

Wes Campbell Rugby Coach Canada
