SKILL FOCUS: Straight striking, speed and fielding skills. EQUIPMENT: Marker cones, speed hurdles, wickets, cricket bat and ball. WHAT TO DO: Setup: Place a long cone with a tennis/cricket ball in front of the wickets. Horizontal form the cones place speed hurdles and 10 meters away a stump. In front of the striking cone place other marker cones opposite each other to create a channel. Opposite the speed hurdles, the other side of the cone places a marker cone for the shadow batsmen. At the end of the channel 10 meters to the left, place the marker cones for the fielding team. Playing the Game: The first batsman stands behind the striking cone. A fielder go stand behind the single stump. As the batsman strike the ball through the channel, the fielder runs forward and fields the ball. After the ball is strike, the batsman leaves his/her bat and run over the speed hurdles to the single stump. The batsman should try being at the stumps before the fielder through the stumps. If the ball goes outside the channel the batsman is out. If the batsman is at the end of the single stump before the ball hits the stump, the batsman receives one point.
