Cut Off & Back Up Drill where one group attacks the ball to teach attacking the ball & Clean pick up & Throw BUT also teaches the backing up principle working together.
Split fielders between cones evenly. Hitter hits the ball between cones to try and get the ball through. Fielder on Red cone attacks straight at the ball (while fielder on the blue cone is running around behind backing up) & pick up clean and return to keeper over stumps. If fielder on Red cone misfields the ball or ball gets through the fielder on the blue cone is running around to back up & fields the ball and returns to keeper over the top.
