Chris Theakstone Teacher, Australia

DESCRIPTION

Two sets of stumps at either end of the pitch with cones around to set a 'no go zone'. Players must attack the other teams set of stumps by rolling the ball along the ground to their team mates and then hitting the stumps with a throw from outside of the no go zone. A fumble/miss-field will result in a turn over. Use of the wrong pass (e.g. over arm throw instead of roll), will also result in turn over. Players cannot move when they have the ball.

COACHING POINTS

To change the drill, a minimum of 5 passes until a throw at the stumps can be introduced. Other rules which could be altered/introduced include the following: Over/under arm throw minimum amount of passes Limit amount of people allowed to score one handed or two handed catches only.
