Creating Match Conditions

Replicating game pressure:

Scoreboard pressure: Setting targets and scenarios that demand specific performance.

Time constraints: Creating urgency through limited overs or time.

Consequences: Meaningful outcomes for success and failure in practice.

Crowd simulation: Adding noise and distraction to build concentration.

Scenario-Based Practice

Chasing targets: Required run rates and wickets in hand scenarios.

Defending totals: Death bowling practice with specific runs to defend.

Powerplay practice: Batting and bowling in field restriction periods.

Partnership building: Batting together under various match situations.

Modified Games

Pairs cricket: All players bat and bowl with cumulative scoring.

Last man stands: Pressure finishing with the tail.

DESCRIPTION

Team Drill focusing on variation catching and ground fielding drills as well as direct hits

COACHING POINTS

Trainer hits ball to player A who returns to trainer. Trainer hits ball to player B who catches then turns and attempts direct hit with Player D backing up and returning to trainer. trainer hits ground ball to C who attacks ball and returns to trainer. trainer then hits a high catch to player D who then throws the ball to player E on the bounce. Player E takes the bails off and then rolls the ball out for player D to run through and under arm throw to trainer
