An area in tape is marked out on a good length extending out from middle to off stump. Players initially bowl from 15 yards, aiming to pitch the ball in the taped area. As this happens more consistently, players are encouraged to move a couple of yards backwards and repeat.
The aim is to get bowlers to focus on pitching the ball in an area consistently. Speed is not importnt at this stage, but accuracy is. 2 x coaches are required, one to look at and identify improvements that players can make to their bowling action to achieve effeciency of movement and accuracy. 2nd coach to stand in front of the wickets in a batting stance. The drill is designed to encourage repetition, promoting muscle memory in terms of bowling action, and allowing bowlers to gain an understanding and appreciation of bowling length
