DRILL TYPE: Racquet Skills FOCUS: Groundstrokes Progressions/ Consistency EQUIPMENT: (12) 25â Youth Racquets (1) Basket of Red/ Foam Balls (12) Poly Spots SETUP: Place the poly spots about 4 to 5 feet away from the wall and place the racquets on the poly spots. Place one basket of balls behind the players. MISSION: The players stand sideways to the wall about 4 or 5 feet away from the wall. They then use their racquet to roll a ball on the ground and roll against the wall and return the ball back to the wall. When the hit the ball on the ground, hit the ball at the contact point and finish with a good follow- through over your opposite shoulder. See how many times they can keep a good consistency of hit off the wall. After they have mastered this technique, make it a competitive game.
