Get your players to work with with one ball in groups of 3.
The player with the ball stands behind the other two players, who have their back to him.
On the command of "Now" the player with the ball throws the ball. The two catchers have to turn quickly and try and catch the ball before it bounces.
Rotate players after 10 throws.
Players should be ready with bent knees, weight evenly distributed and eyes level. Makes sure players are not leaning backwards when taking the catch.
Encourage the more able players to put themselves out of their comfort zones by testing each other with the catches.
Players may wish to experiment with reverse hands catching technique, with palms facing upwards and fingers to the sky.
To make the practice harder the speed, height and length of the throws can be varied.
