Putting MORE power in the push pass

The push pass is a highly accurate short to medium distance passing technique, where the stick is in contact with the ball right until it is released.

This session improves your players' passing technique in both unopposed and opposed situations.

Session structure:

  1. Fast feet warm up
  2. Review of the correct push pass technique
  3. Group drills using the push to retain possession in pairs
  4. Final small side game, using simple rules to utilise the technique in

The benefit of the push technique is that it has no backswing, meaning it is harder for defenders to steal the ball as it is never left unprotected. Use this plan to teach your players this important passing technique.
