Hockey: Crossing - From the Le...

Players in the middle pass the ball out to their respective wingers. The winger receives the ball, and moves down the wing to then cross the ball back to the original passer, who has run into to the circle.

Players start alternate with the ball from two cones on the 23 meter line. They pass the ball diagionaly across for the opposite player to receiv eth ball on the move and to continue running with the ball and have a shot from the top of the circle.

Play the ball in from the top of the circle to be deflected into the goal by the player on the post<br />Then the players run round the cones to go to the back of the other queue.

Player start with a ball outside the circle and have to hit or slap/sweep hit the ball to the far post for the player on the far post to be able deflect the ball into the goal.

Blue player 1 runs around the cone and receives the ball from Red player 1 as they reach the cone, before entering the circle and shooting at goal. Blue player 2 then runs around the cone and passes the ball to Red player 2 who receives the ball and runs on to shoot at goal.

Pass the ball into the path of the player running towards the circle. Player receiving the ball, should keep the stick on the ball when entering the circle and try and shoot as close to the top of the circle, as possible.

Setup Practice as shown. Ensure that there are plenty of balls. Players have to dribble to the circle and shoot as soon as they enter.

Setup the practice as shown.Coach starts on the goal line by one of the penalty corner lines.Player 1 starts on the 25 yard line and dribbles to the top of the circle before shooting at goal. The same player then continues their run to receive a second ball from the coach to simulate a rebound situation.

Player CF feeds the ball to RW who takes the ball to the back line. On reaching the back line he/she passes the ball back to the CF who has now come directlry behind the RW. When CF receives the ball he/she takes the ball into circle and shoots.<BR>CF is now new RW and RW comes back to the start. Next CF starts.

Player 1 runs into the circle and if the defender does not approach, player 1 can shoot at goal. Alternatively if the defender approaches, player 1 can play a one two with player 2 and then shoot at goal.<br />Player 2 needs to run out to make him/her self available for the pass from player 1.<br />Same practice on the other side of the circle (see h500188an).

Creating 2 v 1 Shooting & Goal...

Player 1 passes the ball back to the supporting player. Player 1 then runs in the opposite direction to which he/she wants to receive the ball. The supporting player plays the ball back, first time, into the space created. Player 1 should time the run so that after receiving the return ball, he/she can play a fast 2v1 with the attacker.

Attacking from deep left Shoot...

Player 2 (left wing) receives ball from the Player 1 (left midfield) and takes the ball into the zone where the defender can try and win the ball. Just before player 2 loses the ball he/she turns away from the RD and passes the ball to palyer 1. It is important that this player stays outside the 23m area and straight behind player 2. When player 1 receives the ball he/she plays the ball to player 3 who runs into the circle and has a shot at goal.<br />Every player then follows their own pass. and takes up their new position. Next player then starts.

Objective: Players to be in the correct position when deflecting a ball at the back post.Purpose: Increase the chances of connecting with the ball and therefore scoring a goal.Set-up: <li dir=&quot;ltr&quot;>A midfield passer will start with the ball and wait for an attacker to make a run on the edge of the D. <li dir=&quot;ltr&quot;>Attacker will initially run towards the passer to show for the ball, then peel off, aiming their run towards the baseline.<li dir=&quot;ltr&quot;>At this point, the passer will play the ball into the attackers path and the far post attacker will start their run towards the far post.<li dir=&quot;ltr&quot;>Attacker with the ball will hit a cross in the direction of the far post.<li dir=&quot;ltr&quot;>The far post attacker should be in a set position and attempt to deflect the cross into the goal.

The practice starts with the first red player dribbling their ball to the goal line before passing the ball back to the player who is on the penalty spot. The player receiving the ball then shoots at goal and the player who made the pass (red player 1) carries on their run to the penalty spot to replace player 4. The same happens on the left hand side and the practice continues to loop around alternating from the the right and then the left.

The player on the left passes the ball into the path of the player on the right. When this player receives the ball they continue to run with with it before passing the ball to the player on the far post who then has shot on goal. The player passing to the far post continues to run after their pass and takes up a new position by the right post. The practice can now start again from the other side.

Players run with the ball and then pull the ball back and cross the ball with the forehand. Players follow their own pass.

The player is required to hit the ball across the width of the pitch at the target. There are two options on how to hit: either put the ball on the side line and hit a static ball move the ball off the spot and hit a rolling ball. (If the player chooses the second option, the ball has to be hit in front of the two metre line).

One player (the defender) stands between two cones and is only allowed to move left or right with stick and body in that area. The player with the ball has to try and cross the area with the ball under control. Once all players are across the area they should pass the ball to the next player who can come back the other way.

Creating scoring chances - 3 v...

Player CF feeds the ball to RW through the area. On receiving the ball the RW takes the ball to the back line, (as soon as the ball has passed through the area both defenders can leave the area and try and stop the three attackers scoring). On reaching the back line the RW can pass the ball back to the CF or across the goal to the LW or to RM. Pass and follow sequence CF-RW-LW or RM, whichever player shoots at go-CF.

Player with 6 balls stands outside the circle. This player has to try and hit the ball to the player on the far post. Player on the far post has to try and score. Keeper has to decide each time if to go for the interception or save the shot from the far post.

Support and Swap Possession - ...

The team with the ball must try and keep possession of the ball. Only 2 players from each team are allowed to be inside the area. 1 player can move anywhere on the outside of the area. To involve this player, the players inside the area have to pass the ball to the outside player. On doing so, the outside player can come into the area and the player that passed the ball becomes the new outside player.

1 Player feeds and 1 player has to receive the ball and pass alternating left and right concentrating on the first touch being in the direction of the intended pass.

Crossing test Skill Circuit - ...

The player starts with a ball from the left cone, runs to the second cone and hits the ball on the move towards the target. Then when the ball has crossed the line, the player can start withe the next ball but this time he/she has to run with the ball to the left cone and either pull the ball back and hit, or run past the ball and hit it at the target.
