DESCRIPTION

Level: 2.0 Objective: To practice foundational techniques for passing shots and net play, focusing on positioning and basic reactions. SetupPlayers: 4 players Player 1 (Red): Net player Player 4 (Blue): Passer (receives the ball for passing shots) Players 2 and 3 (Gray and Yellow): Waiting in line, rotating after each point Color-Coded Cones at the net: Green cone: Position for forehand passing shots Red cone: Position for passing shots down the middle Yellow cone: Position for backhand passing shots InstructionsStarting the Drill: The coach feeds a ball to Player 4 (Blue), who is the passer. Player 1 (Red) moves to the net and positions behind the cone that corresponds to the expected passing shot from the passer: Green cone for a forehand shot, Red cone for a shot down the middle, Yellow cone for a backhand shot. Coach's Instructions: The net player can indicate to the coach where they’d like the ball to be fed (forehand, backhand, or middle) for the passer. This helps the net player learn to position correctly and practice basic net coverage skills. Rotation and Points: The net player and passer play out a single point. After each point: The losing player rotates to the back of the line, The winning player stays in the active role. Players rotate through so everyone has a chance to practice both passing and net play. Basic Competition Element: Players can keep track of points to see who scores the most as the passer. Focus should remain on practicing passing shots and learning net play rather than on winning. VariationsVariation 1: Allow players to play two points each before switching roles. Variation 2: On the second point, have the passer attempt a lob.
