Soccer | Shooting Drills

White 2 gets in space to recieve a pass from White 1 Upon receiving ball White 1 has three bounces and five seconds to try to score. Alternate possession between players. The winner is the first to 5. Blue 2 will pass to white 3 when they get open.

Player 1 starts the move by passing the ball to player 2. Just as the first pass is being made player 3 runs diagonally in court in preparation to receive the ball from player 2. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3 who has a shot from the edge of the key. Meanwhile player 1 should have run up court and is positioned ready to receive the rebound if player 3's shot misses.

Players pass the ball to the coach or a feeder just inside the key and run immediately after passing towards the basket. When they are in a prime shooting position they should stop, turn and prepare to recieve a return pass. As soon as the feeder sees the player is ready they should pass to the shooter who then attempts to score.

2 lines on the baseline, with the coach in the middle.The coach will roll the ball down the middle of the court. Both players will run and dive on the ball. The player that gets the ball is on offence and the other player on defence. They will attack the basket from the side they came from. First player to score wins.

Set players up as shown in video clip. When the coach says 'GO' both players will start. Offence only gets 1 shot.

1 passes to 2. p1 v-cut and replace yourself. 2 pass back to 1. 2 & 3 back cut. 1 pass to 2 or 3. Rebound & rotate anti-clockwise.

In 3s pass ball moving down the court. When team reaches the half court line, turn and repeat back. When one of the players reaches the 3 point line make a bounce pass to a free man. Receiving player shoots.

Setup the practice as shown. Player 1 starts with the ball with player 2 making a flash (sprint) cut to the elbow. Player 3 sprints to the cones in front of the before maing an L cut. Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2 who pivots and passes the ball to player 3 to shoot.

Setup as shown. Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 before following their pass to put pressure on the receiver. Player 2 then dribbles around the cones on either the left or right before having a shot. Player will act as the rebounder.

Working in a circuit, players take lay-ups from alternate elbows. After making the shot players should collect their own rebounds and then dribble to the other end to make their next shot. Work in this way for 30 second intervals.

Setup as shown. One player starts out to the left. Player 1 passes to player 3 before making a run towards the basket before cutting back to receive the ball and pivoting to shoot.

3 players in key, coach bounces ball in. Everyone is competing for the ball.  Player who gets a shot in returns to the line and another player comes in. It is continuous play.

The dribbler will use the ball screen, this situation the dribblers defender has gone under the screen. The dribbler is going to stop on top of the screen and shoot a jump shot.

The player will dribble down to the level of the ball screen. Once they get in line with the screen, the ball handler will dribble backwards simulating that the screen is being hedged by the screeners defender. Once the dribbler has gone backwards they will then attack again getting 1 or 2 dribble separation to shoot a jump shot.

Start underneath and beside key near the block. Toss the ball into a spin back into a point between the elbow and the free throw line and the three-point line. Jab, step into the key and simulate a cut off a pick being set off a block cutting to catch the ball about 15 feet out this is a banana cut.

Player then dribbles around the 2nd cone and then dribbles at speed towards the chair. When they reach the chair they should quickly change direction, move and attack the basket where they will finish with a lay-up.

Both Players outside the 3 point line start dribbling with the ball towards the outside court. Players . 2 and 4 run towarsds each other on meeting they both run of the pretend screen/defender and make them selves available to recieve the ball ( keeping receiving hand up as a target) Player dribbling looks up and as soon as the player is available passes the ball. Receiving playersd take a shot and sollect the rebound to pass the ball back to the next two player by the 3 point line.

2 players work with 1 basketball. Players must catch and shoot on the move. Once a player has shot they should catch their own rebound and pass to the other players. Once the player has passed the ball, they should make a run/cut and then get ready to shoot the ball.

Player 1 shoots, collects own rebound and passes to Player 2 Player 1 cuts out to a different shooting spot following their pass and adding a bit of pressure (but not blocking) to their partner's shot Player 2 shoots, collects their own rebound and finds Player 1 with a good pass Before cutting to a different shooting spot Follow their pass and add some pressure to their partner's shot.
