Netball: GS Exit Top

Thank you, what a brilliant site. Our team uses many of these effective...
Debbie

DESCRIPTION

  • The WA and GA will start in a staggered position, with one player (GA in this example) on the line and the other (WA) positioned off the line
  • Both the WA and GA will offer for the centre pass
  • WA will receives the ball from the C
  • GA recognises that they did not receive first ball and will clear out to get down court into the circle
  • The GS will then exit from the top of the circle to receive the ball from the WA
  • The GA will time their movement to enter the circle and receive the ball from the GS allowing her to put up a shot

COACHING POINTS

  • It is important that both players do not start on the line, nor both too far off the line - they should be crossing the line at different times and therefore their offers will be at staggered timings
  • There should always be at least two offers for the ball!
  • By the GS exiting the circle, it will create space for the GA to move into
  • The GA should use a change of speed, to clear out slow and then drive hard into the circle - making sure they angle their drive to get the ball under the post
