My team are a bunch of very strong girls, however they always start a game slow. Only leading by 1 or two. After the first quarter they seem to have settled and will normally win by a large gap. I make sure they warm up properly including landing skills, sprints, ball work and half court but yet nothing seems to get them playing their game from the off set? Any ideas?

What are ways you can fire up your team before taking the court? during our warm up we seem pumped and ready to go, but soon as the whistle goes we seem to be extremely flat and make way too many mistakes. we are a strong team but we have to play catch up because of our first quarter. are there certain things we can add into our warm up to make sure we are all ready to go? or does anyone have a good speech that always say before a game starts?
I am coaching a team of teenagers, who have lost the majority of their games. They are improving and still in good spirits. However I find they start the game really rough, sometimes it continues to go down hill, but often they have a really good second half. How can I get them to start strong? Do I need to look at my warm up???

Some have higher stamina then others, and like to run around while others lie on the ground because they are so tired, from training. Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
I am coaching a team of 8-9yr olds one of which is deaf. I am having problems getting anything to help me with this. Also I am wanting to print off some simple warmup drills eg basic run to first third walk back knees up walk back etc but have picturs for her aswell, but the session planner is more advance than this- I am wanting to do the same warm up for the start of each training and game. Hi Everyone - anyone got any tips for motivational chats before big games and at half time? My team are 2nd on the ladder but can lose their bundle when faced with tough opponents or rain. We're in the last round of the season and going to make the finals,...any tips for motivational chats. Girls are Juniors, between 2 and 4 seasons of experience and of average ability in a middle grade (none of them will play for Australia but they generally try hard and love the game).
