Netball: Triangle Offering- Pass and Drive

Use this exciting extended skills session to improve how your team use the full court, support one another and bring the ball down court

Divide your group into three equal groups and add two defenders inside the triangle. The three attackers attempt to keep the ball between them, driving after they pass to move and be available for the return pass.

1. Play starts with the ball at the bottom end of the triangle, while the two players at the other end will come forward ready to offer to receive a pass.
2. Once the ball is passed, the player who didn't receive the ball should drive to be in space to receive another pass.
3. Finally the player who started with the ball needs to make a move to receive the pass.

Once all three players have received the ball the ball is passes to the next group of players, ready for the drill to start again.

This drill is ideal for teaching players to offer a passing option to their team-mates.

Players stand on a corner of the square to begin with, one player has the ball in hand.

1. The player with the ball passes the ball anti-clockwise to the player on the next cone nearest them
   
2. They then follow their pass, running all the way out to the cone and back
3. The next player repeats this (pass, run out touch next cone and run back)

Drill should be continuous.

This practice is excellent for teaching players to catch on the move, turn and pass.

Players work in groups of 4, with two feeders, two balls and two workers.

1. The workers receive the ball from the feeder opposite them and return the pass
2. They then accelerate quickly to receive from the other feeder

Drill should be continuous.

Starting on a backline, players move the ball through the court ending up with the shooter who puts a shot up.

Players should aim to pass the ball in the following order: GK, GD, WD, C, WA, GA, GS.

If WD had the ball for example, ideally the C should receive it, but WA also needs to offer in a different space for the ball, as well as the GD providing a back up offer if the C is not available.

There should always be a back-up offer from the player who has just received the ball, as well as a minimum of two offers from down the court.

Players should aim to time their movement so they are reading off each other.
