DESCRIPTION

Whole group face the coach who then calls one of the following:

  1. Here: Group run forwards.
  2. There: Group run in the direction that the teacher is pointing.
  3. Everywhere: group run anywhere, dodging everyone.
  4. Nowhere: Group jump up, land and turn waiting for the next instruction.

COACHING POINTS

Insist on quick reactions, fast feet and quick changes of speed from your players.

Haiii ya! This attacking netball plan works on getting the ball from the centre pass to the your shooters in the circle as quickly as possible using 3 attacking weapons!

Fox & Geese | Warm ups

Fox & Geese:

Players 1, 2 and 3 all hold the hips of the player in front of them. The defender (Green Player) tries to tag the back of one of the other nominated players (in this case player 3).

Carrying Cone Warm Up | Warm ups

Carrying Cone Warm Up:

  • Split your players into two equal teams and put down an equal number of cones in each final third.
  • The two teams compete against one another, trying to take cones/bibs from their opponents area and place them behind their line.

Jailbreak | Warm ups

Jailbreak:

One team runs clockwise round the inside of the circle with the other team running anti-clockwise around the outside of the circle.

In this example the defenders are red, and the attackers are red.

When the coach shouts 'Jailbreak' the players inside the inner circle try to 'escape' to outside the 10m x 10m square (yellow cones).

The inside team scores a point for each 'jailbreaker' - swap over. If you have an odd number of players give the defenders the extra man.

Numbers Game | Warm ups

Numbers Game:

When the teacher calls out a series of players' numbers they should run onto the court.

The players' whose numbers have just been called then play using normal netball rules until a goal is scored.
