I have an Under 9 Team with a mixed bag of some good skill level and understanding and others that have very basic skills/Understanding. We have played 3 games this season and won 2. I know all the areas I want to focus on eg,Ball Skills, Footwork, Defending, Attacking, Zones, throw ins, centre passes eg, but is there an order I should create my session plans with these skills flow onto each other. Thanks
i guess thats really up to you. just think about what skills you are wishing to focus on for that lesson, and then make sure they all flow. ie if you were concentrating on getting free, i would probably do about 5 mins of passes to warm up their hands. then do some footwork drills, then the drills specific to prelim moves, then drills that adds a ball in and a situation (maybe a center pass break) and then a game of half court, that focusses on prelim moves and if they dont do one to get free the ball gets turned over.
so think about what the focus is on for the lesson and then make your lesson plan run in an order that develops the skill being taught.
