what is the best position for the GD or GK to defend a shot at goal
Hi Karen,
To effectively defend a shot at goal, both the Goal Defence (GD) and Goal Keeper (GK) should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from the shooter to avoid obstruction. This allows them to effectively contest the shot without breaking the rules. After the shot is taken, they should quickly turn and box out the shooter to secure the rebound if the shot is unsuccessful.
For more detailed strategies, you can explore drills like "Boxing Out" which focus on positioning and contesting for rebounds.

I hope this helps,
Cam
