To effectively defend a shot at goal, both the Goal Defence (GD) and Goal Keeper (GK) should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from the shooter to avoid obstruction. This allows them to effectively contest the shot without breaking the rules. After the shot is taken, they should quickly turn and box out the shooter to secure the rebound if the shot is unsuccessful.
