This exercise where going to be working on ball control to help improve the players ball handling skills through various situations. This is a crucial part of basketball as we don not want to be losing the ball while dribbling and is really going to help the player become comfortable with the movements so that they can focus more on what the defender and the players around them are doing. During this the exercise the player is going to be dribbling the ball around the cones in weaving motion. The cones have been spaced at different intervals to recreate the different paces and scenarios that the players will have to face in - game. This will be repeated 3 times. Regression: Removing the cones and just focusing on dribbling up and down the court. You could also regress it back to just dribbling on the spot between the hands just focusing on hand placement to ensure you dont lose control of the ball. Progression: Reducing the intervals between the cones to get the player focsuing on more sharper movement and handles to get around the cones.
