A fun way to teach players a controlled jink/low scoop, and how to control a bouncing ball. Have the players surround the tyre in between cones, 1-2m away. A ball for every other player, no more. Try and scoop the ball into the tyre. If it misses, another player can control the ball and have a turn. Have spare balls ready to feed into the group. Progression: Once they have got the technique, run this as a relay race as shown. Teams of 2-3, with at least 6 balls per team. First team to finish all their balls wins. Coaches should help return balls that don't go in, so player can try again. You can call it eg: The Orea Game - they need to get the missing cream back into the oreo! Or make up a name.
Ball position: in front of left foot. Angle of stick: at 45° under the ball. Scoop under the ball like you are trying to dig it out of some mud. Gently lift, flick, and finish pointing stick at goal.
