Four different colour cones are set up about 5M apart each time. Three players set up on the first cone with a ball. (attackers). Two players set up on the other cones without balls (defenders). Coach will yell out two colours, from the remaining three cones and the defender on those cones will sidestep out to force the decision making situation for the attackers. Defender tags the ball carrier if he has the opportunity and that player is out of the drill. The remaining two (or three if the defender failed) attackers continue running to the next defender for the second decision making opportunity.
Focus on running drill at pace. Draw and pass on the defender Players make smart decisions and understand situational awareness. If we're inside the 22 and the pass is there you're going to pass. If you're in open field between the 22's you may choose to dummy or step the defender before you pass. Consistency, execution, smart, simple plays over high risk flashy plays.
