Area is set up with 3 bags simulating a tackle area, each with a ball (these are numbered 1, 2 & 3), 5 defenders with pads in between 2 cones, 5m from the `tackle area`. 2 cones are placed on the attacking side of each `tackle area` to indicate a `gate`. 3 attackers are then set, 1 each in front of but 7m back from the `tackle area` The coach will call a number (in this instance it is "3") and all 3 attackers will sprint for the corresponding tackle area and win the shoulder to chest battle, as well as securing the ball. At the same time, 2 of the defenders will also sprint to that tackle zone and attempt to win the contest.
