DRILL TYPE: Racquet Skills/ Team Games FOCUS: Groundstrokes Progressions EQUIPMENT: (4) Poly Spots Basket of Red/ Foam Balls SETUP: Place the four poly spot on one side of the net, 1 on the center mark ( home base), 2 on the singles sideline and service line ( 1st/ 3rd bases), 1 on the center service line near the net ( 2nd base). The coach is in the middle of the at the T ( service line and center service line with a basket of balls. MISSION: Divide the players into two teams- one batting and the other on defense and spread out on the other side of the net. The coach tosses a hand feed pitch to the first player who tries to hit it over the net within the court boundaries. A ball caught in the air by the defense is an out. The batter get three tries to hit a fair ball, if they fails, they are out. Batters run the bases. Base runners must be forced to advance. Teams switch after three outs.
