Have a line of two or more ruck shields, a safe distance apart, five meters from the players that will make the hits. Make sure that the pad holders are holding their pads safely. You should also make sure that you have as many stations as you need in order to keep as many of your players as busy as possible.
The player facing the pad should do the following...
Try to get your feet as close to the pad holder as possible.
Drive into the contact with your shoulder, keeping your head up - scanning and staying safe!
Pump through the contact.
Establish three anchor points! Shoulder. arm of pad holders left (lifting behind the knee joint), opposite arm on the on the pad holder body.
Make contact low, but drive up and through contact.
Possibly draw the shoulder back just before the hit for a stronger contact.
