Is it best to keep your players off for a quarter or a half when you have 8 players -
personally I would rotate 1 person each quarter and then one person gets a full game each week. most younger players need that 1 quarter off to keep their energy levels high throughout the game. but i guess it depends on your mix of players. If you don`t have a spare defence or shooting option then just might have to rotate the mid courters, or take your GA off and use your strongest WA as your GA to feed into the circle. These are just options. will depend on the grade and mix of players.
Thanks very much, I took one off each quarter and will keep track each week.
in more ways than one
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
A shooter who can hold a strong position under the post is worth more than one who runs all over the circle. Here is how to coach body shape, a legal hold and a well-timed release, and how feeders make the most of it.
