Any tips on tactics for backline passes, both defensive and attack? Thanks!!
As a general set up, once the whistle has gone for out of court, the WD positions herself diagonally opposite the GK on the circle edge (edging towards the middle more then the goal line), and the GD positions inside the circle the same side as the GK. With this, the C clears out into the centre third and only comes in for the ball on the last second if needed.
in more ways than one
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
