As an umpire I need to know
If a player at the other end to which I'm umpiring grabs a player and throws her to the ground . There umpire doesnt blow her whistle or do anything. Is there something I can do ?Can I stop the game ask to meet the umpire in the middle of the court and ?

- How bad was the offence (e.g. was your player picked up and dropped on the ground or just pushed)?
- How many other people saw it happen, if lots of other people saw, it would be easier to get the umpire to take action
- Did the umpire see it clearly the first time?
But to answer your question, yes. I think you definitely could stop the game and ask to talk to the umpire.

Throwing a player to the ground warrants any umpire irrespective of whos half the infringement took place to hold the game and confer with the other that a dangerous play has been sited. In this case irrespective of whether it was intentinal or not dangerous play is dangerous play and warrants a suspension (not a caution due to the nature of offence) for the remainder of the game. If not, dont be surprised if a formal complaint is made by the coach or player and a formal review conducted on both umpires as to why it was not sited.
