Can a GD hold her ground when a GA is trying to back into her?
If a GA received a pass in the circle but wasnt to edge closer to the goal using the C or WA to quickly pass to ball back and forth, and they try to edge towards the goal, but as they let go of the ball GD stands behind them, does GD have to move as Ga backs into them?
Hi Emma, if the GA no longer has the ball and is trying to edge closer, they are not allowed to back into the GD. This would be considered contact by the GA on the GD. The GD is allowed to stand their ground until the GA receives the ball again, once the GA has the ball the GD must move back 3ft before defending (ie. putting arms up). Hope this is helpful!
Thanks heaps, that is what I thought. =)
