I coach U15's. Issue is best defence options against very tall goalers doing a hold. Can you advise how a GK can best defend that hold? I don't have very tall players so height an issue regardless of who I play GK.
Best option would be to get your gk to come off the body so the shooter can not set up the hold- this also means the gk can have a go at the ball and it should also confuse the space so the feeders are not sure where to place the pass. Hope that helps!
in more ways than one
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
A shooter who can hold a strong position under the post is worth more than one who runs all over the circle. Here is how to coach body shape, a legal hold and a well-timed release, and how feeders make the most of it.
