Have you any tips or drills on how you mark a static ga as a defender
Hi Nicole,
To effectively mark a static Goal Attack (GA) as a defender, here are some tips and drills you can use:
3 Feet Marking Drill: This drill helps defenders practice maintaining the correct distance and reacting to the ball. The defender should jump back to a 3-foot distance and put their arms up to defend the ball, tracking the ball as the attacker moves it.
Front Marking with Ball Transfer: This drill involves three feeders passing the ball to a static player while the defender adjusts their positioning to intercept the feed. It helps in practicing anticipation and interception.
Defensive Square Drill: In this drill, the defender aims to prevent the attacker from receiving the ball in different boxes. It focuses on tactical thinking and positioning.
GK Dancing Drill: This drill emphasises staying close and on the ball side, adjusting positioning according to the ball's location.
Prevent the Middle Pass Drill: The defender must prevent the attacker from getting free to receive a pass, focusing on quick steps and ball awareness.
These drills will help improve your defensive skills against a static GA. Let me know if you need more information!
I hope this helps,
Cam
