'Most Improved Player'
Should we give out an award ' Most Improved Player' award to one child when there are four equally good players? Secondly should a child who could not catch a ball to begin with be given this type of award? Looking for answers ASAP please.
Hi Angel,
Awards are generally very much a personal preference. I would argue the `Most Improved Player` is not always the best player but someone who you have seen consistent improvement over the season. They may still not be the best player, or even in your starting 7, but they have taken instruction and are always looking to improve.
If the child who could not catch the ball to begin with, you feel has made the most improvement compared to her team mates, then yes she would be a great candidate for the award.
At awards you do not always need to stick to the rigid structure of `Most Improved`, `Coaches Player` and `Players Player`, you can make other suitable awards such as `Star Shooter`, `Awesome Attacker` or `Dynamite Defence`.
Hope this helps.
