WHat is the best way to have a defender defend against a much taller opponent. the question is with particular reference to the Goal Circle
I think to body up and dictate the space of where you want the tall girl to be. Your defender would have to come off the body at the last minute very quickly to try and jump up to receive the intercept. Fortunatly most tall girls dont jump that well. Positioning the shooter with body defence would be my first choice, thats if your defender is willing to do it. Good luck.
Thanks very much for the reply Jennene
your defence can try and keep tall player on the baseline forcing alob but dis also limits her movements to come forward.Or get your defence to play off tall player and use her elevation to jump for the lobs given.Like any tall player shooter or defence, she will not move much but be more of a static player who will move at the last min.up to defence to see where tall player feels more comfortable and start using her judgements and speed to beat the ball into circle. hope this helps

Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
