What is the best way to defend against a team that continually use bounce passes?
Hi
My U11 team play against teams that continually use bounce passes, but they struggle to defend against them. I don't encourage the girls' to use them at this age, but I think this is making it hard for them to know what to do. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Charlotte
Hey Charlotte,
I would start off simple.
- in partners and taking turns - Have one person roll the ball to their partner.
- The receiver should pita patter, bend to collect it then throw the ball back and start again.
- Encourage them to get low to collect the ball.
- Introduce a 3rd person to pita patter so they can compete against one another for the ball.
- Once they have got the hang of it, Start bounce passing (still in groups of three) so they fight for the ball.
Hope they have fun doing this :)
