Hi Andrea,
To help your players build ball confidence, you can use a variety of drills that focus on ball handling, coordination, and reaction time. Here are a few effective drills from the drill library:
Single Handed Ball Control Against Wall Using Left and Right Hands:
- Players stand 3ft from the wall and use their fingertips to flick the ball against the wall, alternating hands.
- Key Points: Keep fingers soft and relaxed, keep your eye on the ball, and follow through with your hand towards the wall.
- 1 Drill Link.
Ball Handling Circuit:
- Set up multiple stations where players perform different ball handling tasks, such as short sharp passes, long passes, and wall passes.
- 2 Drill Link.
Reaction Drill:
- Players work in pairs, with one player turning their back to the feeder. On the feeder's command, the worker turns around to catch the ball quickly.
- Key Points: Each player has 10 catches before swapping roles.
- 3 Drill Link.
These drills will help your players improve their ball handling skills and build confidence in their ability to control and react to the ball.
Best of luck with your coaching,
Cam
