what are the best ways for WD and C to effectively defend on the circle
Hi Celia,
Defending effectively on the circle requires coordination, communication, and understanding of the game's dynamics. Here are some tips for the WD and C to defend effectively around the circle:
Zone Defence - Use a zone defense strategy, where the WD and C work together to create a strong defensive presence around the circle. This involves creating passing lanes for the attackers that lead them away from the shooting circle and into less dangerous areas.
Interception and Anticipation - Both players should work on reading the game and anticipating passes. Try to intercept passes into the circle or disrupt the flow of the attackers by getting in the passing lanes.
Switching: If the opposition is making quick passes and movement around the circle, the WD and C can use a switching strategy. When an attacker passes, the defenders can quickly switch their marking assignments to surprise the attackers and disrupt their rhythm.
Hope this helps.
