hi i play wing attack ( WA) and i would like to know how do you lose your defender (WD) while in a match?
Hi,
To effectively lose your defender as a Wing Attack (WA) in netball, consider the following strategies:
Definite Drive: Make a strong, definite drive towards the ball by pushing off your outside foot to change direction and move onto the ball. Use your body, especially your feet, hips, and shoulders, to help lose the defender.
Changing Direction: Practice sudden changes of direction. Sprint onto the pass and push off from the outside leg to increase power and speed.
Lose Your Marker Drill: Work on dodging and feigning within a small zone to lose your defender, then accelerate out of the middle zone.
1 vs 1 Centre Pass: Focus on shifting the bodyweight of the defender and emphasize the importance of your start position in relation to the defender.
These drills and techniques can help you become more elusive on the court. You can explore more drills and tips on Sportplan for additional guidance.
I hope this helps,
