What things to include in a netball theory session
Hi Jacq,
Theory sessions are great to get your players familiar with positioning in attack and defence as well as laying out targets and aims for specific games/situations. For example, when you gain possession in the defensive third and a break is on, what is the aim from that situation and how can the team achieve it? (Where players should lead, how to move the ball as effectively as possible etc.)
Obviously, it slightly depends on the ability of your group, however you can adjust the session accordingly to suit their level.
Hope this helps!
Tom

in more ways than one
Tight markers win when attackers run in straight lines. Teach your players to dodge, change pace and time their drive so they get free when the ball is ready.
When everyone chases the ball, nobody is free. Teach your team to spread out, offer two options and clear space so the ball moves cleanly down court.
A shooter who can hold a strong position under the post is worth more than one who runs all over the circle. Here is how to coach body shape, a legal hold and a well-timed release, and how feeders make the most of it.
