Attacking and Defending Drill 1 is a shooting drill. Player one lays off a square pass to player 2. Player 1 then makes a diagonal lead to receive the ball back from Player 2 and then takes a shot on goal. The drill should be done on both sides. If players cannot perform a backstick then they should pull the ball onto the forehand for a shot on goal. Drill can be progressed by adding a defender on player 1. Drill 2 is also a defending and attacking drill. Combining the 2v1 concepts across the field and incorporating defense with a deficit. Defenders focus on closing down and applying stick pressure, while the other defenders mark the most dangerous players. Emphasis on defending the hot line.
