Balls are fed from the top cone through the gates (alternating each time) to a leading player The feeder follows pass The leading player recieves in motion and sprints towards the slider The player drags the first slider, returns to sprint and drags the second slider Two touch shot
Skills: Passing through a target Recieving in motion Accelerated dribbling Yard drag (in motion) Shooting Integration: With lower numbers, one side is sufficient and it is relatively simple to move the set up quickly Advancement: If you have the space, move the drill right out. This practices fitness (if done at proper intensity), hitting and reinforces the notion of space Replace the obstacle with another, such as a mine field, defender or other challenge specific to your team, their abilities and areas for improvement Challenges: Laziness! - If fatigued, they may want to walk through, lowering the intensity and diminishing the effectiveness of the drill, the best solution is encouragement and not giving them the chance to slack off Passing through the gate - with younger players, the drill breaks down here, the solution is to stop the game, highlight the error and set challenges with rewards (eg. 10 in a row from the team and the coach does push-ups and 10 missed in a row and the whole team does push-ups) Recieving in motion - if you find them walking up and stopping, either increase the intensity (so they don't have a choice) or move the red cone farther back to ensure they are running in Drags - it is a relatively simple skill but ensure it is being done properly, that is, running at speed and completing the full drag (no stopping or only doing half)
