Divide Half tuf into 5 areas, 1 area for each wing, 1 for Mid Field, area at rear is open for cross field play Goal Team has 2 def and 1 attacker so becomes a 1v2 for the attack and 2v1 for def team. 1 person in each grid area as wing & Mid Field from each team. Team members can't go into other grids, this helps the jnr kids to stay out on there side. they need to move around to allow a pass. as other team will try to defend or tackel and then turn into attack.
Rotate kids through differant positions, Will encourge kids to use the space and have to push or hit ball hard to cover further ground You can find the kids standing on edge of grid systems for pass with defender next to them, encourge movement and other players look for gaps and push ball into space so player can run onto ball After play for awhile, remove cones and let play again, again encouge to keep the spacing. You will see players likes bees to honey into ball Stop and get kids to look around at the space. Great drill for Jnr Kids going from Grass Hockey onto Turf and Larger space Poistions: Centre Forward, L & R Wing, Centre Mid Field, 2 Backs, Goalie
