Field Hockey: Posting up/ 1vs1

Description

1. 2 teams line up either side of the 25 on a small pitch
2. The coach will throw/pass a ball into the middle of the 2 lines in the centre of the pitch
3. the first person in each queue will try and get the ball and will then go 1vs1 to score against the keeper in the D
4. If there are 2 keepers, alternate them in the goal in the D (other goal isnt used in this drill)

Coaching points

• Roll outs can be introduced if players are just trying to go through each other
• Keep it competitive by recording the number of goals scored by each team
