Setup 2 pod of 4 facing off ( you can increase the numbers as you like) against each other Each pod starts at the green cone. The ball will be set in the middle between both pods. 4 gates in different colours are setup Drill (Game) The attacking pod can choose which gate to go through and calls out a colour to both Pods. this Starts the game Both pods then have to enter the game via that gate The goal of the attacking team is to get the ball to the winger and the winger to line break The goal of the defending team is to stop them Coach will decide when each game finishes and award the points Coach blows whistle and ball is returned to centre The game is reset and the other team now selects the gate to go through thus initiating the next round. Roles - Attacking team - choose which gate they will run through and what direction they should support the run. ( leadership and communications) The first 2 players through the gate should assume the role of forward and the halfback. The second 2 players assume the role of attacking backs The forward should protect the ball and the scum-half should distribute the ball out to the wing. The role of the attacking backs is to get the ball as wide as possible and then line break Roles - Defending Team - The first 2 players through the gate should be assume the role of forwards and the halfback. Their goal is to secure a turn over The second 2 players assume the role of defenders The forward should counter ruck 1v1 and the scrum half should 1) get ready to received the ball, 2) look to intercept the attacking scum half pass The role of the remaining 2 defenders are to track the runs of the opposing backs to best place themselves for a intercept/tackle (touch or full contact at coaches discretion) .
