DESCRIPTION

2 defenders run round red cone and must tackle the one attacking player. The attacker will have limited space to work in, outcome should be a safe, correctly performed tackle. The two defenders need to close down space and have the confidence to make the tackle.

COACHING POINTS

Safety first, correct tackle technique is what we are looking to developed at closer to real time speed. (moving on from tackling at walking and slow jog speed) Evasion skills for attacker. Decision making for both defenders and attacker. Playing area should be narrow, and not too long so players don't build up too much speed. Safety first.
