Knowing and being able to execute all 3 stages of defence in netball is crucial. This session helps your players develop these key skills and be able to combine and execute all three in order to successfully turnover the ball.
What?s in the Session?
The session begins with a fun warm up to get your players really thinking about their defence, and allows the coach to reward players for portraying good defensive skills. The session progresses to focus on your players stage 2 defence, having a strong 3ft mark over the ball. This is an essential skill as it can obstruct the ball carriers vision and force an error. ?Down The Court With Defenders? allows your defence to combine all 3 stages of defence and focuses on getting your players to prevent the ball getting through court. The final drill allows your players to practice and develop their 1 vs 1 defence, so they are ready to put it into a game situation. The session concludes with a full group drill, with certain conditions placed upon the drill to get your players implementing what they have learnt.
Develop your players defensive skills in order to increase your team's chance of turning over the ball or forcing errors to gain possession.
