A centre pass can be the perfect opportunity for your team to place pressure on the opposition, in turn securing a turnover or forcing an error. To successfully dictate a centre pass each player must be committed and do their job, this will help your team work as a unit and gain the ball.
What?s in the Session?
The session begins with a fun warm-up focused around promoting the defence to do the 3 key stages of defence to obtain points. The warm-up is high intensity and very competitive which will be the perfect start to the session. The session progresses to remind your players to keep their attacker away from the ball, this will put pressure on the ball carrier and force them to feed an overhead ball allowing your players to easily intercept. It is crucial that all defensive players work in a unit on the centre pass, with the C shutting down the front option and the WD and GD forcing the attack wide away from the ball. The session allows your defence to work through the stages and build up the number of attackers until you have a full game scenario. The session concludes with a modified game of netball, with certain conditions placed upon the game to get your players demonstrating what they have learnt.
The earlier your team turnover the ball the better. Ensure your team communicate and work together as a unit to increase their chances of success.
