Footwork is a fundamental skill within netball and can often be overlooked, however this session will ensure you nail the basics to keep possession.
What?s in the Session?
The session begins with a fun warm-up to get your players moving and thinking about their footwork and angles. The warm-up will get your player focusing on pushing off their outside foot to generate power so they can move off at speed. The session continues to work on the theme of movement and footwork, getting your players to work all angles - forwards, backwards, diagonally and laterally. The session further develops to get your players to consider their footwork and movement whilst working in a partnership. Your players must now not only be aware what they are doing but also their partner, to help balance the court and ensure they are not in the same space at the same time. The session concludes with a modified game of netball, with certain conditions placed upon the game to get your players demonstrating what they have learnt.
The session not only focuses on nailing footwork, it also helps improve your players movement to develop their power and speed to change direction and get free from their defenders.

No more 50/50 toss-ups. When simultaneous infringements occur, possession now goes to the team that last had the ball. Here's what it means for your coaching.
Train your defenders to win clean turnovers, not just disrupt. The difference between good defenders and great ones is taking the ball, not just touching it.
Netball is experiencing unprecedented growth, with record viewership, evolving rules, and professional leagues expanding worldwide. Here's what 2026 brings for our sport.
